You'll travel in one of our air conditioned SUV's as you relax in comfort and see all that Antigua has to offer from Nelson's Dockyard to Devil's Bridge and Betty's Hope. You'll see it all in one day.
Nelson’s Dockyard is the largest of Antigua’s National Parks and is still used today as a working dockyard for numerous yachts and ships. Fully restored to its original splendor, the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century buildings of the Dockyard house modern amenities such as shops, hotels, and marina businesses.
Shirley Heights is a restored military lookout and gun battery. The Lookout. This high point (about 490 ft.) affords a superb view of English and Falmouth Harbours, the best view in Antigua. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset and early evening when all of English Harbour is all lit up.
Devil's Bridge is a natural arch carved by the sea from soft and hard limestone ledges of the Antigua formation, a geological division of the flat north-eastern part of Antigua. A bridge was created when a soft part of the limestone eroded away by action of Atlantic breakers over countless centuries.
Betty's Hope was the first large sugar plantation on Antigua, and its success led to the island's rapid development of large-scale sugar production. Although the only surviving structures are two stone sugar mills and the remains of the stillhouse, the site's importance in Antiguan history has prompted the government to begin developing it as an open air museum
Old Road, a village that juxtaposes a fair amount of poverty with two swank resorts, marks the start of 5-mile-long Fig Tree Dr, which winds through rainforest, past big old mango and giant-leaved banana trees (called 'figs' locally) and roadside stands selling fruit, jam and juices.
Caribbean Taste serves the best Local cuisine. It's located in the middle of a neighborhood and it feels like you are visiting someone's home. Here you can indulge in local foods such as Saltfish, Conch, Ducana, Fungee, curried goat, fresh fish and lobster. The meals are excellently prepared and the portions are very generous.
Can't Imagine A Better Tour of Antigua Elmo was definitely a class act. He spent the WHOLE day with just me and my husband and did not disappoint! What a gem Antigua has in Elmo. We have been to other islands with other tour guides, but this was the best, most complete by far. If you are looking to book a day trip, Elmo is definitely the way to go.
